The current administration is republican, the current mass media is extremely liberal biased, how the hell do you propose that a republican government is controlling a liberal mass media. Also the new democratic congress, what an omen of fascism that is. Rampant Nationalism? Half the fucking country is against the war, George Bush has had the lowest presidential approval ratings in history. I never said anything about revoking American's rights, I said that the poster censoring, is not a sign of fascism.

When in a civil debate, you should try to refrain from insulting the other person, it makes you seem like a child.

I'd like to remind everyone that it's more useful to think of fascism as a technical term instead of a pejoratives one. The term comes from Italy and means "bundle" or "union." It signifies the united interests of the state, military and political system. Hannah Arendt wrote that the difference between fascism and totalitarianism is that fascism requires the support of the public, whereas totalitarianism does not. Most people forget that Hitler came to power in a democratic system.

Wikipedia has a good article on the term:

As a supporter of the continued existence of Guantanamo Bay's continued existence as a prison for foreign terrorists, I would like to say a nice big "FUCK YOU" to the MPAA. There's absolutely nothing disturbing at all about that picture compared the the gruesome images from other posters. The MPAA needs to shut up.

Keep the poster; although I like Gitmo, the continued freedom of expression for me and my fellow Americans is more important.

How is saying America is becoming a fascist state degrading the holocaust? Hitler and his Third Reich are hardly the only fascists that have assumed power.

Is the censorship of a movie poster affecting my personal liberties? No, but who says we need to be selfish in dealing with our liberties? We as Americans are born with unalienable rights that have recently been rescinded or even revoked in some cases. Yes, most Americans take their liberties for granted, but that does not mean they should be revoked. Attempting to defend someone else's liberties is by no means taking liberty for granted, it's fighting to be able to use those liberties. In recent years, the United States has moved toward fascism. That much is on display everywhere from the control of the mass media, to the rampant nationalism (if you aren't with America, you're with the terrorists), overzealous sexism, corporate power protected while labor power is dwindling, and many more signs of by-the-book fascism are part of our daily lives.

Pull your head out of your ass and pay attention!

Fascist state? Think about this? is it actually affecting your liberty, that they changed a movie poster. Too many people complain about nothing, when the governemnt moves your whole race to death camps then you can call it a fascist state, but don't degrade the suffering of six million over a stupid little movie poster. Americans take all the liberties they have for granted.

There are many double standards in the world of censorship, especially surrounding movies. Especially when large money interests are being part things; A movie made by the big guns in hollywood isn't necessarily going to get the super-high ratings they might deserve.
Throw into this the patriotism issue, where anything that may be perceived as critical of the government is considered "unamerican" and you have a wonderful recipe for fascism.

This isn't very shocking. Disney has been able to get away with lower ratings then it deserves for a long time. The system exhumes corruption.
